Overview:

A soldier returning for mid-tour leave decides to stay with a cousin in Maine, after his fiancé leaves him for someone else while he is away at war. His cousin is going through his own devastation and is struggling to pick up the pieces and move on with his family. Suicide Note was a total surprise to me!  After reading the overview above I wasn't quite sure what to expect in the story and I'm actually glad I didn't go in with anything type of preconception.  The story of Jenn and Shane is a total swoon story, with lots of sweet moments but at the same time it wasn't over the top or unbelievable.  I can admit that I did shed quite a few tears with this book, but no ugly crying!  There are also few OH NO SHE DIDN'T moments too, I yelled at my kindle on more than one occasion and I have to mention that this book absolutley has the best last line of any book I've ever read!

The title "Suicide Note" can lead you to believe that there is going to be a suicide but rest assured there no one commits suicide in the book!  The story is more about people picking themselves after experiencing heartache and how those people interact with each other.  The story is told almost as if you are reading two different diaries at the same time.  Each section starts with a date and you can start to see where everything lines up and how the two characters are effecting each other.  I normally don't enjoy books that are told from multiple POV's but Teresa Mummert did an amazing job in effectively getting both stories across without the confusion that can come with that style of writing.

I am really excited for this book to come out and highly recommend that any who loves a good romance novel that is not a series pick this up when it comes out!

“I tried. I hope Jenn understands that I tried. But I couldn’t listen to him talk that way about her. I spun around with my fist cocked back and connected with the left side of Thomas’s face. He was out before his head hit the floor.”
