Entry Level Mistress by Sabrina Darby

Available Now!

Momma's Rating:
3.5 sexy revenge stars!

Momma's Review
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Entry Level Mistress is the story of Emily Anderson, a young college graduate who is determined to get revenge on the man she believes set her father up 10 years ago and led to her father doing jail time and ultimately destroying her childhood.  But when she comes face to face with the beautiful man who she believes caused her so much pain she starts to falter.

I liked Entry Level Mistress, again this is one that I didn't really read the synopsis.  I knew that it was a revenge plot storyline but after reading some very dark revenge style books lately I was really hoping for a bit more out of this read.  It was a good read but I felt that the actual revenge was a bit lacking.  I was really hoping for more angst and suspicion....more of the "will she or won't she" moments.  And the story felt a little forced because of it.

The Hero:

Daniel Hartman is sexy and romantic.  Not too much of an alpha male but still masculine and slightly demanding.  He doesn't seem like your typical 31 year old billionaire with more of a free spirit and less angry then most other recent written lead characters.

The Heroine:

Emily Anderson is a sweet college grad looking for revenge.  Her character starts out strong and free-spirited.  I started to get frustrated at about the mid way point because she seemed to be losing herself in the hero but as the story progresses she finally comes back to her original self.

Momma's Recommendation:

I really do think that it is a good book that is worth taking the time to read.  I read it in roughly 4.5 hours, but not in one sitting.  At 3.99 it is a bit on the high side for books but it is well written, error free and a sweet story.

5 Amazing End to an Amazing Series Stars

Momma's Review

So I've said this a few times this past week but I absolutely LOVED the Cityscape Series by Jessica Hawkins!  All 3 books were very well written and the timing of each book was perfect, the first was a bit slow to start (see my review here.  The Cityscape series is the story of Olivia Germaine, a regular girl who after a chance meeting with a stranger starts to question her safe relationship with her husband.  I won't spoil any of the books for you but know that the angst in these books was really my biggest draw.  Love triangles can be very hard to write but this was executed perfectly.  You never knew what the heroine was going to do and the constant guessing really kept me drawn in the entire time.  Sometimes with trilogy stories you can start to feel like everything is being drawn out but this wasn't.  I was kept on my toes and the end of each book had me instantly emailing Jessica to find out when I could get my hands on the next book.

One of my favorite things about this third book was the amount of heat!  This is by far the sexiest of the three books and I was literally panting at parts because of it.  I tend to get a bit jaded with the amount of books I read but I wasn't left wanting at any part which is why I easily gave it 5 stars!

I am so happy that I picked up the first book a few months ago!  Jessica Hawkins delivered an amazing story for a new author and she will easily be added to my must read authors list in the future.

Momma's Reccomendation:

I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes romance.  Especially if they get  excited by hot heros, wild sex and more angst that should be legal!

Video Interview with Sylvia Day

Last month I had an amazing opportunity presented to me........I got to do an interview with Sylvia Day!  Talk about blowing my mind! She is easily my favorite author, not only because her crossfire series really pushed me to start this blog but also because she is so easy going and nice every time I get to see her in person!  I happened to be in Las Vegas for the Naughty Mafia Event but I was lucky enough to squeeze into my room just in time to be able to chat with her over the phone...and the best part was it was recorded on video!

Now we all know that I love blogging...one of the main reasons is because I don't really have to talk to anyone face to face!  I'm totally shy if I don't know a person well and at events I usually totally clam up and just smile and nod!  The problem is that this usually translates to the phone too....especially when I'm talking to someone that I pretty much consider a rock star in my world!  I was shaking for a good 10 minutes after I hung up the phone......and it didn't help that I had 4 other bloggers watching me and laughing the entire time!

So, without further delay........my interview with the one and only Sylvia Day about her new book Afterburn and some tidbits about the upcoming TV series based on the Crossfire novels!!!!!!

Truth by Aleatha Romig

Available now!

Momma's Rating

5 I love him, I love him not Stars!

Momma's Review

So I read this book back in July, YES July!  I've been so confused about my feelings for Tony that I kept putting off  the review because I just didn't want to go there!  And then yesterday I got a present from Aleatha Romig in the form of an Advanced ARC of Convicted.  Well Shit!  I can't start reading it until I clear Truth out of my head so here we go......

Truth by Aleatha Romig absofuckinglutley wrecked me!  After reading consequences alone I forced my friend Mags to read Truth with me just so I could have someone to freak out with.

The conversations looked something like this:

Me: Hey Mags...wanna read this book with me

Mags: Sure why not, I was putting it off but I'll do anything for you cause I love you so much.

Me: Ok let's do this

Mags: I'm starting now

Me: Oh holy fucking shit, Mags where are you.  I'm totally freaking the fuck out right now.

Mags: Me too, did you see that ******** did ********

Me:  YES!!!!  OMG this is the best worst book ever.  I'm dying here!!!!!!!!  Can you believe she ************** and he ***********

Nat (she likes to butt in): Bahahahaha you girls have no idea what's coming up!

Mags:  I know!!!!!!  I hate Tony so much!!!  Like HATE him!

Me:  WTF Mags!  I'm sorry I pushed you into this.....I love you so damn much for reading this for me!

Mags; I know you do....and you owe me BIG!

And now back to the book!  While it wrecked me both emotionally and mentally I totally LOVED this book.  I think it is easily my most talked about book this year.  Anytime I find out that someone has read the series I just have to talk about it.  My poor hubs seems to know almost as much as I do now because he's heard all about it.

This is such an amazing story.  It just whips you around until you don't know which way is up.  You love Claire, and then hate her, you Hate Tony and then you start to like him.  And then there is Harry, and while I didn't love him I have a suspicion it's because the book made me NOT TRUST ANYONE!  I was constantly looking for each characters ulterior motive!

Can you tell I loved this book?  Cause I totally did!  Do I recommend that you read it?  ABSOLUTELY!!!!  Just be prepared to make sure you have someone to talk to about it!  And don't worry....I'm always here to listen if you want to scream about the book!

Everything For Us by M. Leighton

Available Now:

Momma's Rating

5 Nashty Stars

Momma's Review

***Caution if you HAVE NOT READ the first two books PLEASE READ THEM BEFORE READING REVIEW.  There is no way to discuss this book without revealing spoilers from the first two!!!!!***

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Last year I found my love of romance novels after reading FSOG.  Immediately after reading it I was dying for more.  I logged onto Amazon.com and the first recommendation that came up was Down To You by M. Leighton.  I figured what the hell, it's got a guys abs on the front....it's gotta be good!  I was so glad I picked it up because I immediately fell in love with Cash & Nash.  I was hooked not only on the books and M. Leighton but it showed me that I was hooked on the genre.  Then I waited for Up To Me and was blown away.  I instantly became a bigger fan of M. Leighton.  A few weeks go by and I hear that there is a plan to write Nash's story and I just about fell out of my chair.  The series was perfect and I never thought that we would get that last little bit of our Bad Boys!

I absolutely loved Everything For Us.  It was one of those books that I just couldn't put down and I found myself reading it well past midnight!  It was well written and holy shit it was HOT!!!

The Story

Everything For Us is the third book in The Bad Boys series and the perfect ending to a great storyline.  After reading Down To You I was happy with the ending and felt complete.  But that said, I am so happy that M. Leighton decided to give us Nash's story, it filled a void I didn't know I had and answered so many questions I didn't know to ask.  Not only that but we get more of Cash & Olivia....Bonus! The story is told from the POV of both Nash and Marissa, which I love!  It's not an easy way to write but she writes it so well.

The Hero
Nash Davenport

So here I sit and I'm totally torn.  Because I LOVED Cash...I mean come on, my dog is named Cash.....no, really.... and yes, after the book!!  But then came the real Nash and wham, I'm all kinds of confused about which way to go.  He's broken by the things he's been subjected to since the death of his mother and doesn't know how to trust anyone, let alone love someone.  But as the story moves on he becomes this hot, caring, domineering, sexy man that I couldn't stop thinking about long after I finished reading.

The Heroine
Marissa

In the previous books Marissa was such a bitch!  So bad that I actually wasn't too sad about what happened to her at the end of Up To Me.  But she was so different this time around.  She's confused, alone, sweet, shy and finally seems human!  I was gripped by what she was going through and really was fighting for her to finally have a HEA.

The BFF's
Cash & Olivia

So this may have been the best part of the book, finally getting to see Cash & Olivia again!  I loved the ending to the previous book but this just took it to a higher level and I loved it!  We only get glimpses of them because they aren't the main story but if you loved Cash you will love him in this story as well.

The Steam

Props to M. Leighton for bringing it up a notch in Everything For Us.  There are 2 specific scenes in this book that are so fucking hot I actually hat to jump on twitter and send a message to the woman herself to tell her how awesome they were!  I was practically drooling during most of the book, Nash is a beast!

Momma's Recommendation

I highly recommend this book to everyone!  Readers who love romance, suspense, sexy, smutty...this book has everything!  *just please read the first two books....you'll be lost without them!

I

Release Date: October 8, 2013

Blurb:

There were still lessons to learn and consequences for the truth!
When Claire Nichols met Anthony Rawlings, she didn’t know they had a past, or that he had plans for her future. Over time, the role of teacher changed—games became reality—and domination turned to desire. Despite an insurmountable history, Claire and Tony found their way back to one another.
Just when they seemed to have it all—love, respect, and the promise of a family—the game master exposed the truth. Claire’s world once again spun out of control. Unwilling to allow her child to suffer the consequences of an old vendetta, Claire fled...
At one time, Claire was held captive in an opulent mansion—then her incarceration was a cell inside a state penitentiary. Was her new prison—a tropical island—truly less lonely? Perhaps that was the game master’s plan, all along?
Who will save Claire from her oldest nightmare and her newest reality? Will it be Tony? Can he forgive her for leaving him—again? Harry? Will he utilize previously unknown connections to save the woman who infiltrates his thoughts? Maybe Phil? Will his devotion in keeping Claire and her child safe be rewarded?
As the cards are played—sins of the past, innocent victims, and truths are revealed. With compartmentalization no longer an option, is the reality too much? Could there be an even worse isolation?
With the game master dealing from a stacked deck, can this new high-stakes game possibly be won?
When its all over and their cards are on the tableSOME will discover their bets were too high—they have nothing left to lose—ALL will learn the crucial lesson—the most important rule—there are CONSEQUENCES for the TRUTH!
