5 Beautiful Mind Fuck Stars!!!

Momma's Review

How in the hell did I miss these books???  So a few weeks ago one of my girlies, Mags from SMI BookClub, asked me to read these books.  Why?  Because it was such a mind fuck that she needed a partner.  Who could say no to that?  Well I couldn't so I jumped right in with The Opportunist and I am so freaking glad I did!  THANKS MAGS!!!

The problem with these book is that they were so amazing that I read them back to back to back with no time to review them in between so I'm going to do a series review of sorts because, well because I can!

The Opportunist:

Truthfully I was a bit worried after I started The Opportunist.  I did feel that the very beginnings of the book were a bit slow and because I knew that something big was coming it made me a bit impatient.  I stuck with it because I had to catch up with Mags and the BAM all the sudden it all makes sense!  The way that the first book is written is so amazing.  This book is told from Olivia's perspective but switches between past and present and it was done perfectly.  The way that Tarryn Fisher wrote the story was brilliant.  Each time you had a question about the present, bam it switched to the past and made sense.  And then when you needed more info on the present it flipped again.  It was almost like she was telling two stories at the same time.  And the feels in this book....ughhhh!  I giggled, I cried, I may have had a heart attack!  It's back, It's forth.....it's a mind fuck of the best kind!!!

Dirty Red

The second book in the Love Me With Lies Series is really hard to review without spoilers!  Because I can't tell you what exactly made me so angry that I started screaming at my kindle.  But I did and you probably will to!  But that's the best part.  Dirty Red is told from Leah's POV....I know WTF...but it all makes sense in the end I promise.  And it's amazing, have I already said that?  Cause it really is.  And PS, I'm totally on team I Hate Leah!!!!

Thief

Ok there Miss Tarryn Fisher, I can't tell if I want to hug you, kiss you or smack you!  The third book is filled with the same back and forth craziness of the first two book in the series but this time from Caleb's POV, I know...squeee! But this book KILLED me!  I got two chapters in, dropped the kindle on the couch and stomped around my house in circles cursing out loud.  Yes, you read that right, I had an official temper tantrum!  I haven't read a book in a very long time that caused that loud of an emotional response.  Again, I've debated how to review these books because I can't freaking tell you anything that happens without ruining a previous book in the series, damn it! But let me just say that I loved book 3 just as much as the others.  But be prepared, because book 3 is the one that finally had me in tears...don't forget he tissues!

Can you tell how much I enjoyed this series?

Momma's Recommendation:

I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good brain scramble!  This isn't a dark or highly erotic read, though there is some sex.  But it's full of suspense, angst, drama, and gut wrenching moments!  It has jumped into my top reads of all time!

Momma's Review

I loved this book so much that I absolutely devoured it!  I sat down thinking, oh I'll just start this tonight so I can finish it tomorrow....nope, stayed up till 2am reading in bed until I finished it!

Fade In is the debut novel by author M. Mabie.  And while I've known Mo for a while I had no idea she was writing a book until I little birdie told me a few weeks before it released.  And I'm so freaking glad she did.  If I didn't know that this was the authors first book I would have never guessed it based on the writing.  The story was so well written that I found myself sucked into the characters, even the secondary characters held my attention.  Fade In is the perfect mix of romance and comedy with just the right amount of angst.  I had a huge stupid smile on my face for most of the book.

And can we talk about the feels in this book?  The way that M. Mabie was able to write about a serious subject, with the heroine loosing her sight, was amazing.  You could feel the panic from the heroine as she came to terms with what could possibly happen to her and then felt her strength as she learned to deal with it.  I almost yelled out "yes!!!" every time she grew a little more.

Momma's Recommendation

I highly recommend this book to all readers!  With such a great mix of story and steam it will easily make it onto my favorites list for 2014!

Synopsis

Tatum Elliot is a successful writer on a hit television show, lives in an Upper East Side apartment and loves her life. She wouldn’t change a thing. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have a choice. She's losing her sight. Tripping over her tongue and her heels, Tatum all too quickly realizes that the things which appeared so important before are slowly slipping away leaving room for what really matters. With the support of her best friends, family and colleagues, she begins to see that there’s much more to life… and herself. When Ben Harris enters her life as her new personal assistant, she can’t tell if it’s his good looks and charm that are working on her libido, or his kind and helpful nature working on her heart? Whatever it is, neither one of them can resist it. As her vision fades out, a world of love and happiness just might…Fade In. Fade In is a contemporary-romance novel about laughing through your tears and telling life to, quite frankly, “Suck it.” This novel contains sexual situations that the author may or may not have tried at home… for your safety, of course. Research is research.

About The Author

M. Mabie lives in Illinois, NOT Chicago, with her rock-star husband. (True story.) She loves writing for Fifty5Cents Book Blog, which she owns and operates- at the moment quite poorly. She's a proud member of the Indie Author Romance Author Chicks writing group where she maintains a high standard of professionalism and lady-like maturity- or not. She cares about politics, but won’t discuss them in public. She uses the same fork at every meal, watches Wayne’s World while cleaning, and lets her dog sleep on her head. M. Mabie has never been accused of being tight lipped or shy. She’s THAT girl. (She doesn't usually speak in third-person, but surprisingly does when weirded-out about writing her bio.)

Momma's Rating
5 emotional stars!

Momma's Review

Have you ever read a book that left you so emotionally raw that you finished the book and just sat there dumbfounded?  That was Forever and Always for me.  Jasinda Wilder has written a book that is strong, emotional, sweet, gut wrenching, erotic, raw and just plain amazing.

One of the things I truly enjoyed about this book was how the story was told, Many of the important things that happen in the story are told by letters from one character to the other and vice versa.  It took it so far past the normal switching of the POV and made you really feel the characters beyond just the story.  My other favorite part was how her writing grew as the characters did.  When the book starts the characters are 15 years old and the writing of the letters reflects their age but as they grow up the writing does too.  This was one of the things that really sucked me in.

I am not one to really jump to a book if I know it's going to make me cry but I felt like I was in a place that I could handle a tearjerker, I'd heard from multiple blogger friends that it was going to be a killer and it totally was.  The real life situations that happen to the characters ripped my heart out and left me with a horrible ugly cry but if given the chance I would put myself through it again!  I loved this book that much.

Momma's Recommendation

I highly recommend this book to all readers.  Yes, it's an emotional read but totally one worth reading.  There are erotic scenes towards the end of the book, it is definitely not YA and that should be taken into account by a reader.  There are multiple books in the series but they are already out, so while the cliffy is a bitch...you can jump right into the continuation of the story!

Holy wow this book was smoking HOT!  Like so hot I had to jump on voxer and rant to all my blog besties about how hot this book was.  The synopsis just doesn't do it justice!  I was a bit hesitant with the story because the heroine is really aggressive in bed and I tend to prefer my books with a hot alpha male but Charlotte Stein really made it work in a way that left me panting!

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a well written erotic, steamy standalone!

I absolutely love books from Elora's Cave so I jumped at the chance to grab this one from Netgalley.  Issy's Infatuation was a hot quick read at just under 55 pages but don't let the lack of pages fool you.  Just as you would expect from any Elora's Cave book this is extremely HOT.  And one of my favorite parts was there was an actual story involved  Shelley Munro did a great job with getting me to connect with the characters to the point where I was rooting for them.

I recommend this read to anyone who loves erotic books and is looking for a quick read with TONS of steam!

4 Stars

So this book hit a total soft spot for me because it's all based in the coastal areas of Southern California and I absolutely adore books that take place in locations that I've lived!

Maverick was a well written read that had a good balance of sweet and steam.  The hero, Kellen, is a cocky alpha male who goes after what he wants, but has an amazing soft side.  The heroine, Gina, is the poor Public Relations rep that gets stuck trying to handle Kellen and becomes the object that he wants.  The best part was watching Kellen start to come to terms with his past and the fact that it wasn't a sudden "I'm all better" moment.

I recommend this read to anyone who loves hot surfer boys, a bit of angst and a bit of steam!

Claiming Her Warriors

Released:  July 21, 2013
Length: Novella, 78 pages

5 Stars

How Savannah Stuart pulled this one off is beyond me!  First, I don't normally read anything sci-fi.......like EVER.  Second, It's Sci-Fi and I ABSOLUTLEY LOVED it!  Even though it's a novella the only thing more that I wanted was more!  The character development was strong and I found myself falling quickly for both men...and yes I said both!  (did you see the cover....holy hell)  This is a follow up novella to Heated Mating but it follows secondary characters.  I had not read Heated Mating but at no point did I feel lost in the story by not knowing what was going on.  And this book is HOT, I'm a sucker for m/f/m and this one did NOT disappoint.

I highly recommend this book to any reader who loves m/f/m quick reads.  Be prepared to sit in the freezer while reading!
