Momma's Review

4 Hot Barista Boy Stars

*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for a honest review*

The best part about being a reviewer and blogger is meeting awesome people and one of the first awesome authors I met was C.C. Brown.  This is the third book that she has published and I am so proud of her!  I love that I can see the progression of her writing in each one!

The Story:

Shattered starts out a bit different than your normal romance novel.  We get to see the disintegration of one relationship and the building of another.  But that what makes it such a great story, it's not following the trends, it's truly written from the heart....not because of a want to just get something out to the masses.  And the best part????  It's a Standalone!!!!!!!!

The Heroine:

Dallis O'Brien
With most romance novels you get a girl who is sweet and romantic and while Dallis could be sweet and romantic....she isn't!  At first I didn't like her....ok I kind of hated her, but as the story progressed and I was able to get a handle on her character I really started to like her.

The Hero:

 Grayson Rivera
Holy Hot Barista Boy!!!!! He's sexy, he's smart, he's a business owner and he's TATTOOED!  and we all know how much I love a tattooed boy!  Grayson is a great BBF.  He knows just when to push Dallis forward but is also there to hold her when she needs it.  All I know is I have to fight off a few other bloggers to get to him!  (Hey Trev!!!)

The Steam:
I love the steam in this book!  It's hot, it's sexy and it's perfect!

The Cover:
The cover really isn't a stand out cover in the line up of current books but once you read the story it really does become the perfect cover.

Recommendation:
I can easily recommend this book to ALL romance novel lovers!  Especially ones who love tattooed boys!

About The Author:

Just a book reading, writing loving, mommy and USMC wife! :)
I love to write, even if it isn't what is conventional and makes everyone feel giddy inside. I usually pull from dreams, or ideas that just thrust themselves into my head. I have what some would describe as a dry sense of humor, and I think its conveyed in my writing. I like to think I am a kick ass chick, but I can also be sensitive. I'm learning to grow thick skin, and in this field, it is definitely needed!
I won't put anything out that I am not absolutely proud of, but like E.L. James said, "I can't own people's reactions to it." Thanks for reading my work... I do appreciate it!

Impact of You by Kendall Ryan, Review and Interview with Avery and Chase

Available now on Amazon, B&N and Smashwords

4 sweet, sexy stars

Synopsis

Needing an escape from her past, Avery chooses a college where no one knows her. Keeping a low profile was the plan, falling for the intense frat boy, Jase wasn’t. Yet she can’t deny how alive she feels when he’s near. Even as common sense implores her to stay away, her body begs her to get closer.

Jase, numb from his own family drama, has grown bored with weekends fueled by nameless girls and countless bottles when he meets Avery. Helping her cope with her past is better than dealing with the bullshit his own life’s served up. Determined to drive away the painful secret she’s guarding, he appoints himself her life coach, and challenges her to new experiences. Getting close to her and being the one to make her smile are simply perks of the job.

But when Avery’s past boldly saunters in, refusing to be forgotten, can Jase live with the truth about the girl he’s fallen for?

Recommended for 17+ due to mature themes and sexual content.

I really liked The Impact of You by Kendall Ryan!  It's a sweet story about two college students with some pretty big issues in their pasts. The story of Avery and Jase starts like a classic boy meets girl, girl has past kind of story but it's more than that.  Her past is pretty big and not something that many college age girls would have to worry about but at the same time is an issue that is becoming more and more relevant as social media becomes more prevalent in the lives of high school students.

Avery's character was sweet, innocent and shy.  I did find a few of the things she did frustrating and would have loved to see her step up and embrace her issues a bit sooner but it played out well.  And Jase, well Jase is freaking HOT!  Who wouldn't want a Life Coach like him!

I can easily recommend this book to anyone looking for a good romantic read with some sweet, some sexy and a bit of HOT!

Interview with Jase and Avery

I’m so very excited today because Kendall Ryan was nice enough to let me borrow Avery and Jase from The Impact of You for a little while!  Now I’m going to try really hard to not throw myself at Jase while he’s here….especially because I don’t want to get smacked!
Hi guys!  Thanks for taking the time to meet with me today, I know you two are busy with school and I really appreciate it.  I really enjoyed your story and was hoping that you wouldn’t mind answering a few questions for my readers!
So Avery, the first time you saw Jase your friends were calling him “Pretty Boy,” What was the first thing you noticed about him?
“His eyelashes. They would bring any girl to their knees. And his height. And his messy hair. And the way he stood with such an air of confidence about him. He just had a presence. “
Mmmmmmm, I can see what you mean, oh sorry….Jase, In a room full of drunken college students what made Avery stand out?
“She looked sweet, like that totally wasn’t her scene. And with all the other girls clamoring for attention, dancing and laughing too loud, it made me want to get to know the mysterious girl in the room.”
And speaking of a room full of drunken students, what’s it like trying to be together in a Frat House?
“It’s fine for us, because I have my own room in the attic. “
Really, the Attic? Sounds fun! But Jase what in the world would make you want to be Avery’s “life coach,” Though I should tell you I think it was a great idea!

“Great question, and I have no fuckin’ clue. I just wanted the chance to be around her, to make her smile, to hear her laugh, and not gonna lie, I was hoping all that would lead to getting in her pants. “

Well I was about to say awwww how sweet but that’s pretty funny too! And back to you Avery, why would you actually agree to that?  I mean besides the fact that you would get to hang out with a total hottie.
“Well, Jase can be very persuasive. And I guess I realized he was right. I was sort of hiding, and I wanted to take a chance.”
Persuasive huh? Sounds intriguing!  Jase, If you had to do things over again with Avery would you have done anything differently?
“Of course. I still regret the way I reacted when I found out about the skeletons in her closet. I won’t say too much for the people out that haven’t read our story yet, but basically I acted like a guy, i.e., idiot. “
Acting like a guy may be an understatement And Avery, I’m pretty sure I know what you would do differently but why don’t you share with our readers
“I’m just focused now on living life with no regrets, so I honestly can’t even say I’d chance anything. The outcome has been worth it. And who knows, we might have never met, if each of us hadn’t been dealing with our shitty pasts. “
Well said Avery!  I like to try to live by the same ideas.  Ok, are you two up for some fun?  How about some rapid fire questions but with a twist!  I’m going to ask you a question and I want you to tell me the first thing that comes to your mind about the other person.
What is the silliest thing that the other does.
Avery: Calls me Whistle
Jase: Trying to minimize her chest by wearing sports bras. Free those beautiful babies.
Do they have a secret talent?
Avery: Making me laugh hysterically, oh, and he seems to have a hidden talent for embarrassing me too.
Jase: Blowjobs. Seriously. This girl excels at them.
What is their favorite color?
Avery: His is green, like my eyes.
Jase: Yep.
What is their most favorite thing in the whole wide world?
Avery: Oh… tough one. I’m going to say my boobs.
Jase: The girl is the good. Fact. Avery’s favorite thing in the world is me.
You guys crack me up!  Thank you so much for taking the time to sit down with me today and good luck with the rest of your classes this year.

Entwined With You by Sylvia Day

Available now on Amazon and B&N

4.5 Dark and Dangerous Stars

Momma's Review

*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review*

Ok....so let me just start this review off by saying that I LOVE Sylvia Day, no I mean like really LOVE her!  I've read almost every book she's written....including a few paranormal and historicals which I NEVER read....like never ever ever.

But I am going to give an honest review of EWY, not just a crazy fangirl piece...hopefully!

I was so absolutely excited and honored to receive a copy of this book.  Some of my readers know that the Crossfire Series is really the reason I started a review blog.  I was literally telling anyone and everyone about the series and once my friends got tired of hearing about it I took to Facebook and started the MommaRomance page.  I am head over heels in love with Gideon and probably always will be.  I'm pretty sure there is absolutely Nothing that he could do to ever make me not go crazy for him!

I did get a late start with this book because my mini me's were being a bit testy, and that meant that I started seeing the reviews and comments coming through on Facebook.  I happened across a few of them and they seemed negative and made me really worried. I'm not sure if it was those posts, the fact that I hadn't had a full nights sleep in close to a week or that I was just way too amped up to read this book from the long wait but I had a bit of a hard time getting into it again.....and boy did that make for a sad momma!  I actually put the book down and took a night off to start again the next day.

That said, once I got a bit of rest and started again I finally started enjoying the book.  Now, there were a few serious things that bugged me which is why I only gave the book 4.5 stars.  There were some really big questions from Reflected In You that were answered in Entwined With You, but they were passed over so quickly I almost missed them completely.  There were also some new events that happened in Entwined With You that didn't seem necessary but I trust that Sylvia Day has a plan ;)

Also, I am so very freaking excited that there are 2 more books to come in Crossfire Series!  And, as Sylvia has confirmed, the fact that the books have been picked up for some type of TV makes my fucking year!!!!!!!  I just hope that it moves forward more quickly than other series that have been picked up recently and that we finally get to see Gideon in action!

It's really hard to write about this freakin book without divulging secrets....ughhhhhhh

Sylvia Day stays true to form in Entwined With You and has written some of the steamiest sex scenes I've ever read!  From night clubs to airplanes to Gideon's amazing penthouse office, there is never a dull moment between Evan and Gideon!

The Heroine:
Eva Trammel

Eva has always been a strong heroine, it's one of the reasons that I truly liked this series.  In Entwined with you she is a bit softer but really shows a back bone a few times in this book.  This time she has to play a part of a single women in parts of the book so there is some definite love/hate going on but she stays true to herself and her history in the series.

 The Hero:
Gideon Cross

Gideon Cross is just fucking perfect in every sense of the word.  He would literally kill for the ones he loves!  There isn't much to say about Gideon other than that!  In Entwined With You we get to see more into his feelings for Eva and how far his love for her goes.  *ps, how perfect does Henry Cavill look in that pic, just picture him with a cranberry and vodka!*

Momma's Favorite Quotes:

“Angel, a crowd of millions couldn’t hide
you from me. I found you once. I’ll always find you.”   -Gideon Cross

“I look at you, angel, and I want you so badly. I want to be with you, listen to you, talk to you. I want to hear you laugh and hold you when you cry. I want to sit next to you, breathe the same air, share the same life. I want to wake up to you like this every day forever. I want you.”   -Gideon Cross

“Reminds me of the red dress you wore the first time I had you. That was it for me, you know. You devastated me. There was no coming back from that.”   -Gideon Cross

“More like Cross blew your circuits during one of his sexathons. Still can’t get over that man’s stamina. Wish he’d swing my way and wear me out.”   -Carey
