Up In The Air Series by R.K. Lilley

My Rating:
3.5 Stars

Overview (from book 1)

When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can't seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.

Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes.

My James Cavendish

My Review:

I don't normally review a full series at once but I read these ones so damn fast I forgot to stop in between and write each review!  I love a dominant, don't take no for an answer, sexy, rich alpha male and Mr. James Cavendish didn't disappoint.  He made me want to say "yes sir" over, and over and over again!

Phewww, let me fan myself off for a minute....

Ok, I'm back! Back to the actual review.  I liked this series, I really did.  I rated it 3.5 stars as an overall for the entire set.  Broken down by book I gave In Flight 3 Stars, Mile High 4 Stars and Grounded 3 Stars.  The fact that I spent my entire weekend literally locked into by reader says a whole lot about these books, but that said there was something that it was lacking.  I really liked the fact that the BDSM aspect of the book was more realistic than other books I've read and at the same time didn't read like a "BDSM for idiots" guide.  The Hero was hot, the heroine was strong and the best friend was to die for.

What really bugged me was Bianca's constant worry that she wasn't good enough for James.  I kept getting frustrated that it played on for so long and really wished that she would have come to terms with that sooner.  Looking back I really think that was what was bothering me for most of the series.

Would I recommend this book, Hell Yes! This book is for anyone looking for a hot dominating hero, a sassy heroine and some steamy kinky sex!

My Favorite Quotes:

“I’m going to ruin you. I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you.”

“There you go, belittling us again. You must know by now that I've never done any of this for anyone else. I was a slut once with my body, but I've never been a slut with my heart.”

“The director cleared her throat just a few shots in. “Um, so, is there anything you can do about that, Mr Cavendish? This is not an X-rated publication…”
James, shameless bastard that he was, seemed completely unfazed. “You’ll just need to shoot me waist up. You were the one who wanted my girlfriend in the shot, putting her hands on me. What did you think was going to happen?”

Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

Available on Amazon and B&N

My Rating:

6 Hot Fuckin' Stars....yes 6 STARS!
If you have to question the 6th star...then you wouldn't understand!

Overview:

Warning: This is not a typical love story. This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It’s intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn’t happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops—with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache—over the span of a lifetime.

Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with bikers in the club lifestyle is all that she knows. When she’s a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the sexy, biker bad-ass of the Hell’s Horsemen Motorcycle Club. Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club—but that’s where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love. Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and bloodshed that could tear them apart. Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself—a man worthy of love—and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can’t live without.

This is Eva and Deuce’s story.

It wasn’t easy.
Nothing worth doing ever is.
And love is worth everything.

My Review:

Okay....let me start this by saying that if the F word bothers you then PLEASE don't read this review...or this book!  I may be tempted to use the word about as often as Madeline Sheehan does!

OMG, I fucking loved this book.  Not loved, maybe more like I want to marry it, chain it to my bed and have it's babies! Or even put it on the back of my bike.

So a few weeks back I started asking around for a good book with a strong alpha male and I swear every other answer was Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan.  I had no idea how right my girls were this time!  Excuse me as I fangirl myself.

Deuce is wild, sexy, strong and scruffy....everything I want my bikers to be.  And while he has a soft side to him it doesn't come out often.  Deuce is not an overly sweet guys, there are no tears or begging from him at any point! He's mean, arrogant and takes what he wants.  I may be forever changed when it comes to my ideal Alpha male and only wish he was real.  If he was I'd be at his feet...begging ;)

Not only that but every guy in the whole fucking book makes me weak. If I wasn't married I'd run out tomorrow and find me a Deuce, Ripper, Cox, ZZ or hell even Preacher and make myself a club girl......squeeeee.

Madeline Sheehan is a fucking rockstar! Yes, I said it, a fucking rockstar!  The sex in this book is so HOT, like molten lava hot.  The way she writes literally grabs you by the balls and forces you to feel everything going on.  I have a hard time finding writers who truly make me drool as I'm writing and Madeline Sheehan has easily jumped onto my shortlist of favorite Erotic writers.

Oh and there is another book....another fucking book!  Don't worry this isn't a cliff hanger, but we get the story of Danny & Ripper.

Favorite Quotes:

“Shhh,” He growled into my mouth. “I got you, I fuckin’ got you. Just let it go baby girl, just fuckin’ let it go.”
Madeline Sheehan, Undeniable

“Because baby, I'm wild pussy and wild pussy can't be bought. Wild pussy doesn't like having pretty things thrown at it and being expected to do the samba on someone's cock in return. Wild pussy doesn't do deals. Wild pussy lives free and for itself and takes it however it likes it; on a bed, on a couch, on the hood of a car, in a bathroom stall or up against a wall in an alleyway and it laughs the entire time. I've known you for a while now Chase. I know you've never had wild pussy and I know you never will. Wild pussy doesn't fuck uptight cock. And it sure as hell doesn't like silk boxers”
Madeline Sheehan, Undeniable

“Daddy!” Eva whirled around, glaring. “I’ve been fucking Deuce since I was eighteen! I wanted to fuck him when I was sixteen! Maybe I even wanted him when I was twelve too! Who knows! What I do know is I have been in love with him since I was five! So get over it! And don’t you dare shoot him or I’ll shoot you!”

*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this ebook from the publisher via Netgalley for an Honest review in return*

Anyone who reads my reviews on a regular basis can see that I normally like books that are more on the dark/erotic side.  What can I say....I'm a dirty girl! But I found that I really liked this book!  Even though it is a young adult romance Jessica Sorensen wrote it in such a way that you almost don't notice the age of the main characters.  They were both forced to grow up at such a young age that it would just seem normal to them to deal with the issues that come up in the book.

Micha is a tattooed, guitar playing bad ass who likes to race cars, hello hottie!  And Ella is a strong, independent women who doesn't take shit from anyone.  They are pretty much made for each other but only Micha can see it.

This book had me crying on more than one occasion as well as laughing out loud.  And in an odd way almost made me want to go back to my late teen years again.  I am anxiously awating "The Forever of Ella and Micha!"

My Review:

I was so excited for Twisted to come out and I definitely wasn't disappointed!  Twisted starts right where Torn left off and it only gets better from there.  I could tell almost immediately that twisted was going to be a different book, it seemed to move quicker and felt like it was going to be darker.  And the drama, oh the drama in this book seemed to be everywhere!  I don't want to reveal any spoilers so I won't go into details but at times I found myself having to back up to double check what was going on, at times it was too much drama between characters to keep up. That said I still really enjoyed the book. The thing I really liked is that during the story Chloe stuck to her guns.  When things got tough she didn't turn into a sappy girl and let herself get walked all over or pushed aside.  She has a lot thrown at her this time around and she never turns into the "victim."

This book is a must read for anyone who enjoyed Torn or anyone who enjoys a book with lots of fast paced drama, a strong heroine and HOT boys!

My Review:

*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review*

Holy Crap this book is HOT!  So hot that it grabbed a very coveted 5 star rating!  Everything about this book is amazing.  It is written with so much angst it's not just like a roller coaster, it literally feels like your on a fucking coaster!  I caught myself forgetting to breath and hanging on, every time you think it was about to level it BAM it would drop again!  The up and downs were amazing but the twists were perfectly executed and from total left field.

And the sex, oh holy hell the sex!  J.C. Reed writes a steamy sex scene that can compete with some of the top authors!  Every time Brooke and Jett are together I needed a glass of water. My heartbeat was timed right along with Brooke's as Jett made his moves and wished I could keep him for myself!

Oh boy the ending....talk about a CLIFFHANGER!!!!  It was breathtaking....no literally, I lost my breath when it ended!  I am so very impatiently waiting for book 2 to come out, and I have it on good authority that we only have to wait until June 1st!

Excerpt:

“Hey. Had a good day?” he asked in a low and throaty tone, sexy as hell.
I swallowed hard, forgetting my voice. He strolled toward me and bent down to place a soft kiss on my cheek as his hand moved to my lower back, barely touching the soft material of my shirt.
Too close for comfort, too electrifying.
I couldn’t breathe. He was so confident it scared the living crap out of me.
Smiling bravely, I took two steps back, forcing myself not to dash for the nearest exit.
“It was good. What about you?” My voice barely found its way out of my throat.
“It’s getting better now that I’m here with you.” Jett’s eyes descended into mine, sending my insides into upheaval. His thumb brushed my lower lip and a frown crossed his features, as though he couldn’t decide whether to kiss it. I wanted to make that decision easy for him so I gently pressed my mouth against his thumb while my eyes remained connected with him. His breathing became shallow as I started to suck his finger into my mouth, pulling it in and out.
“You’re playing with fire, Brooke,” Jett said huskily. “I don’t want you to get burned.”
“You promised fire. I don’t mind a little pain,” I whispered against his hand. This was about the most obvious invitation I had ever spoken to a man. My heart began to beat wildly against my ribcage, reminding me of a fragile bird in desperate search for a way out of a cage. And in some way I was a bird, and my life was a cage. While I’d never let Jett or any other man inside, I figured I could safely venture outside for a change, in the hope that I might just forget my past. Be someone else for a while.

My Review:

Ok, so I was totally blindsided by this book.  I knew it was a good book, I've heard it over and over from friends and bloggers over the last month so I decided to give it a shot!  What I didn't know was how much I was going to LOVE this book!  Once I started I was hooked and I read it straight through in one sitting.

I am so totally in love with Drake! He's all cool rockstar without a care in the world but underneath he's really a sweetheart ! And thankfully Chloe isn't some silly naive girl either! She's had a horrible past but tries not to let it control who she is. The story was well written and had a really easy flow, no crazy time warps or missed months.

This book is not an Erotic book.  There is sex, and its hot, but not erotica.  I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a steamy romance with one hell of a cliffhanger, thankfully the next book in the series, Twisted, is set to be released March 15th.

Edge of Always special Excerpt

The Edge of Always cover has been released!!!  And J.A. Redmerski was kind enough to send out a previously unreleased Excerpt for the upcoming novel!  Enjoy.

Excerpt:

THE EDGE OF ALWAYS Excerpt
Camryn shrieks and I start laughing as we dash away from the cows and toward the car.

“Awww, shiiiit!” I yell when I step in a huge pile of it.
Camryn cackles with laughter and we both practically stumble the rest of the way through the field, me trying to scrape the shit off the bottom of my shoe while running at the same time and Camryn’s flip-flops getting caught on the ground trying to keep up with her feet.

“I can’t believe that just happened!” Camryn laughs as we finally make it back to the car. She arches her body over forward and props her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath.
I’m out of breath, too, but I still relentlessly scrape the bottom of my shoe on the asphalt. “Dammit!” I say, rubbing my foot back and forth.

Camryn jumps up on the hood of the car, letting her legs hang over the front. “Can we finally say that we did it?” she asks with laughter in her voice.
I stand still finally and catch my breath. I look at her, at how beautiful and bright that smile of hers is and I say, “Yeah, babe, I think we can safely mark it off our list.”

“Good!” she says.
Then she points behind me. “Do it on the grass,” she says with one side of her mouth pinched into a hard line. “You’re just spreading it around doing it like that.”

I hop over into the grass and start rubbing my foot back and forth again. “Since when did you become an expert on shit?”
“Better watch your mouth,” she warns, getting into the driver’s seat.

“What are you going to do?” I taunt her.
She starts the Chevelle and revs the engine a few times pressing on the gas. There’s a cruel gleam in her eyes. She props her left arm across the top of the open window and next thing I know she’s driving slowly past me.

I give her the warning eye, but her grin just gets bigger.
“I know you won’t leave me here!” I shout as she goes past me.

Surely she wouldn’t….
She gets farther away and at first I call her bluff and just stand here, watching her get smaller and smaller…

Finally, I take off running after the car.

Cover Reveal: Enlightened by C.C. Brown

Look at this amazing cover for the upcoming sequel to Red Flags, Enlightened by C.C. Brown

Isn't it beautiful? I really can't wait for this to come out!!!

Enlightened
After being humiliated and having her heart broken, Cara vowed to never let love cloud her better judgments again.  She knows the warning signs, she's seen the red flags, and she's now picking up the pieces and moving forward with her life.
Jason felt the effects of humiliation and heartbreak as well.  He's realized the error of his ways and wants nothing more than to prove to Cara that he can be the man that she needs him to be.
Past secrets, family members, and new players threaten to keep the couple apart.  Will a newly enlightened Cara be able to wade through the murky waters and find happiness with Jason, or will her heart and the outside forces keep the two apart?
Excerpt:
"This is too much.  It's just too much to process right now."  I muttered feeling flustered by the bombardment of a tangled web of deceit from all of the players in Jason's life.
"I know it’s a bunch of bullshit, Cara, and you certainly don't deserve it.  But you need to know that I want to be with you more than I want to take my next breath."
I watched as tears filled his eyes.  Jason blinked, trying to keep them contained when one escaped and slowly rolled down his face.  The sight of tears falling from his eyes filled mine and I allowed my tears to fall as well.
He wiped my tears away with the pad of his thumb and asked, "Why are you crying?"
"Because you are.  Because there is so much hurt in your world that has found its way into mine, and I just don't know where to go from here."
He smiled and continued to stroke my face.
"I know I'm a very broken man, Cara.  But you make me feel whole.  Please, don't give up on me?"
I looked into his sparkling brown eyes and shed a few more tears.  I wanted him -- I wanted him bad -- but I was also afraid of my world being torn to shreds by him again.  It hurt being with him and it hurt like hell being without him.  I felt like I was in the middle of a very cruel game of tug of war, and I wanted nothing more than to break free from all of it, but watching the pain soar through him hurt me just as much.  There was no doubt in my mind that he was being truthful, but fear paralyzed me, and kept me from jumping right back into his arms again.

My Rating:
4 Swoonworthy Stars

His cousin is going through his own devastation and is struggling to pick up the pieces and move on with his family. My Review:
*Disclaimer: I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Suicide Note was a total surprise to me!  After reading the overview above I wasn't quite sure what to expect in the story and I'm actually glad I didn't go in with anything type of preconception.  The story of Jenn and Shane is a total swoon story, with lots of sweet moments but at the same time it wasn't over the top or unbelievable.  I can admit that I did shed quite a few tears with this book, but no ugly crying!  There are also few OH NO SHE DIDN'T moments too, I yelled at my kindle on more than one occasion and I have to mention that this book absolutley has the best last line of any book I've ever read!

The title "Suicide Note" can lead you to believe that there is going to be a suicide but rest assured there no one commits suicide in the book!  The story is more about people picking themselves after experiencing heartache and how those people interact with each other.  The story is told almost as if you are reading two different diaries at the same time.  Each section starts with a date and you can start to see where everything lines up and how the two characters are effecting each other.  I normally don't enjoy books that are told from multiple POV's but Teresa Mummert did an amazing job in effectively getting both stories across without the confusion that can come with that style of writing.

I am really excited for this book to come out and highly recommend that any who loves a good romance novel that is not a series pick this up when it comes out!

My Review:
*disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher via netgally in return for an honest review*

OMG Ten Tiny Breaths was an AMAZING read!  K.A. Tucker is a new author on my favorite list and I'm pretty sure I will be reading anything and everything she puts out in the future.  The story of Kacey was a thoughtful and heart wrenching story that is extremely well written.  From the opening chapter of the book you are pulled into the history of Kacey and her family and can't let go.  And then you get on the roller coaster, you can feel it going up, you can hear the click, click, click as it goes higher and higher !  I could see where the story was going but just like any good roller coaster I couldn't see when it was going to hit!  Then we reached the top and BAM!  I happened to be in a very long line at the post office when it hit and I let out an audible "NO WAY!!!" and garnered the attention of the entire line of people, I won't be doing that again!

There wasn't anything to dislike in the book.  Kacey is  smart, strong and sassy, there were no whiny helpless heroines in this story!  Trent is hot, emotional and loving with a dangerous secret!  You even fall for the supporting characters, you can't help but love Livie's shy, sweet, help everyone attitude while at the same time rooting for the neighbor Storm who ends up being a better friend than expected.  The best part of the book is that not a single character fits into a typical stereotype.  You would think that strippers would be sluts, strip club owners would be assholes, the landlord would be a creeper.....but nothing turns out as it seems!

The only reason I gave 4.5 stars instead of 5 was that I wanted a little bit more!  The ending was great but it felt a bit rushed, or maybe it was that I didn't want it to end.

I cannot recommend this book enough, Anyone who likes romance novels should go out and get this book.  It's a Must Read for 2013
