This book was a bit of a conundrum for me. When I first saw the synopsis for Taint I thought I was expecting a book that was extremely dark and taboo. My overly dirty mind went to some very dirty places...I blame it on massive amounts of dirty books I've read in the past year. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the book even though it wasn't as down and dirty as I initially expected.
To tell you the truth, I really enjoyed this book! It was erotic, sweet, romantic and, believe it or not, pretty freaking funny. I won't give away any of the details, even though it would be so much easier to write this review if I did! The references in the book to current and past pop culture totally drew me in and made me fall in love with the characters. It was the funny moments that really made me push through the times where I caught myself thinking "this totally wasn't what I was expecting."
I did find that there were a few parts that were a bit slow for my taste and at a certain point I just kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, when you know something is coming and you really just want the drama to happen. But the angst between the characters, the will they or wont they, kept my mind busy enough that it wasn't too hard to keep reading.
And the steam! We all know I loved the steam, yes I know, I'm a dirty girl! The level of steam in the book was great, it wasn't just thrown in for the sake of sex. And a few of the scenes had me blushing like a housewife clutching my pearls.

Momma's Recommendation:
I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good romance story with an erotic twist and plenty of heat! That said, this is a strong example of don't judge a book by it's synopsis. It's hot and steamy, but not dark or overly erotic. Will you find yourself blushing at certain parts...YES! Will you have to hide the fact that you've read this book for fear of being shunned by friends...NO!
